I'm Nick from the UK, recently started reading after Shameless Saturday!
As for your other question. I don't know! I guess for me having been raised in a Christian family presented it's own challenges, by the time I accepted it for myself I was already living by Christian standards, so it only got worse from there! I think for me it's the gradual realisation that everything I have comes from Him, everything I am good at is because He made me good at it. Learning to lean into that thinking at the cost of my pride is really no cost at all...
I love Isaiah 61 too it is a passage that God has led me to time and time again...
Hi Nick, Thank you for reading, and I enjoy yours as well! Thanks for sharing your ashes from the past, and well I know exactly how you feel! I know it sounds weird but sometimes I think it's harder having grown up in the church and then having to break free of that "comfort" or feeling like I already know everything about church and stuff. I am definitely working daily on my pride and trying to have true, undoubting faith!
