I'm Traci, a native-Texan living in the live music capital of the world- Austin, Tx! I enjoy winding down with a cup of tea, long walks on the beach, and hanging out with my friends...oh wait, this isn't a dating website?
Okay, but seriously- I am a freelance writer and blogger based out of the best city in the world (and that's no joke)! I am happy to finally say that I am following the Lord's calling on my life to be a storyteller.
In addition to writing about my faith, you may also find the occasional post that reveal my inner sports junkie. I am the daughter of a football-crazed mom and a baseball-obsessed dad, so naturally I was destined for sports greatness...or at least to write about it.
I was once broken but because of a wonderful thing called grace, I am now redeemed. God has taken the ashes of my past and turned them into beauty.
I have been writing this blog for almost 7 years, and through it God has taught me that the plans I made for myself as a Senior in high school aren't exactly what he had in mind for me. Through the awkward encounters, hard "life experiences" and everything in between, God has taught me to just write about it. My life before Christ was dirty, messy and embarrassing and if writing about it helps draw someone to Jesus, then it is worth it. The great Jon Acuff once tweeted:
"Sometimes God redeems your story by surrounding you with people who need to hear your past so it doesn't become their future."
So this is my story, an honest story of a sinner saved by the grace of a sovereign God.
"Sometimes God redeems your story by surrounding you with people who need to hear your past so it doesn't become their future."
So what's a single girl to do when living in the "live music capital of the world"? I enjoy living in community with my church family, finding ways to "Keep Austin Weird", waving foam fingers at sporting events, having game nights at coffee shops, playing football at Zilker Park and kayaking on Town Lake. I also like crafting, reading, lunch dates with my girlfriends and spending time with my main man- Melo.
This is Melo. He was named after the basketball player Carmelo Anthony, not because he is mellow. He is actually the complete opposite. Silly dog. |

Hi My name's Lydia, and I'm so happy I came across your blog. I am all the way over in Australia, and I'm actually creating my own website called The Beauty Room sharing God's love with young women and teaching the importance of both inner beauty and wearing makeup properly. The website will be published January 15th 2015. Please email me if you want me to send you a link when it is open. Thank you again, love your page!
